Lake Superior Ice Festival 2026 Pet Royalty Contests 

The Humane Society of Douglas County, Inc. (HSDC) proudly presents the Lake Superior Ice Festival 2026 Pet Royalty Contests:

 Canine King & Queen (dogs only)
 Felines of the Festival (cats only)
 Lord & Lady of the Festival (all other pets)

HSDC is thrilled to once again be part of the 2026 Lake Superior Ice Festival, celebrating the incredible pets in our community while supporting animals in need.

 How to Enter:
Pet entries will be accepted January 14 – January 20, 2026 for a fee of $5 per pet.

 You will be prompted to:
Upload photos of your pet
Write a short bio from your pet’s point of view to help charm voters

Community members will vote to determine this year’s Canine King & Queen, Felines of the Festival, and Lord & Lady of the Festival.

 Voting Details:
Voting opens: January 15th, 2026 at 8:00 AM
Voting closes: January 27th, 2026 at 9:00 PM

Cost: $1 per vote

Each contestant will receive a direct voting link on their pet’s profile page, making it easy to share on social media, via email, or by text with friends and family.

The male and female pet in each category receiving the most votes will be crowned the 2026 winners.

 Coronation Ceremony:
Canine King & Queen winners will be crowned on
 Saturday, January 31st, 2026
 12:00 PM (Noon)
 Fairlawn Museum

All contestants are invited to attend and enjoy the Coronation Ceremony. Canine winners are expected to attend with their humans.

Due to cold temperatures, Feline and Lord & Lady winners are not required to attend, but we kindly ask that their owners be present to receive prizes on their pet’s behalf.

HSDC staff will be on-site starting at 11:30 AM, so stop by early, enjoy the beautiful Fairlawn Museum, and say hello—we’d love to meet our contestants!
