Hop aboard the DTA trolley tour showcasing Superior businesses’ creative Snow{less} Snowmen. You’ll also tour beautiful snowman ice sculptures, sponsored by Gotta Be Superior, throughout the city. These are free tours! (Dinner not included)

Duluth Figure Skating
We offer an open skate area and free Learn to Skate Lessons. Learn to Skate Duluth instructors and club volunteers will be there helping skaters with tying skates. We help you learn basic skating FUNdamentals - how to get up, move forward & backward, how to stop, and usually some fun games with prizes.
We hope to have some skates for kids to use, but if you have your own skates, please bring them!

ORB365: A Community Art Collaborative
Superior residents, businesses, classrooms, and organizations are encouraged to join the ORB365 community art collaborative!
Participants will pledge to prevent water pollution for the year. The participant's pledge is symbolized by ice orb(s). The ice orbs represent each day that clean water is important to them. The community goal is to make 365 ice orbs!
Display location: The ice orbs will be assembled in the shape of Lake Superior to create a community art sculpture as part of the Lake Superior Ice Festival on Friday, Jan. 30 - Saturday, Jan. 31.

The Humane Society of Douglas County, Inc. (HSDC) proudly presents the Lake Superior Ice Festival 2026 Pet Royalty Contests:

HSDC is thrilled to once again be part of the 2026 Lake Superior Ice Festival, celebrating the incredible pets in our community while supporting animals in need.
How to Enter:
Pet entries will be accepted January 14 – January 20, 2026 for a fee of $5 per pet.

Outdoor Curling Exhibition Bonspiel
Hosted by the Superior Curling Club. Watch 8 teams compete as they attempt to curl on Lake Superior ice. Curling is a winter sport played on ice, where two teams of four players slide heavy granite stones towards a circular target called the "House" This is your chance to watch a game in a one-day bonspiel (competition). Lake Superior ice (natural ice) is VERY different from the indoor, groomed ice we normally curl on. These games can be very interesting and fun to watch.

Join us inside the Estuarium!
Our beautiful Lake Superior is an amazing and fun place to swim, fish, and boat, but it’s important to recognize that it can be dangerous, too. Join Wisconsin Sea Grant to learn about how cold water can affect our bodies and some steps you can take to keep yourself and your loved ones safe when you’re in and around the water.
Disc Golf
Presented by the Lake Superior Disc Golf Community, this free 9-hole putting course is open to the public. Discs will be available at the club booth. At the booth, you can also purchase a Club Membership, see free demonstrations, and get instruction from local pros. Discs and prizes will be available for competitors!

UW-Superior Adult Snowshoeing
Curious about snowshoeing or looking to give it a try? Join UW–Superior Campus Recreation for Adult Snowshoeing at the Ice Festival! This is a great opportunity for adults to try out snowshoes, learn the basics, and enjoy a fun winter activity in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
No experience needed—just bundle up, step into a pair of snowshoes, and enjoy getting outside this winter with help from the UW–Superior Campus Recreation team.
